Navigating. Don’t you wish that directions for passing on your faith to your kids could be told to you in that lovely Siri voice? Step by step? With 100 feet to spare? Instead, God has given us some ‘not quite as obvious’ but definitely more valuable directions in His Word. This gives you the opportunity to work on making it unique to your family.
This week, while sitting together as a family, have each person share a favorite place they have been or a place they dream of going – maybe even answer the question, Why?. Next stop and pray – simply thanking God for those places, the opportunities to go to those places and for the desires in their hearts to go to new places.
It is a big responsibility to be the spiritual leaders in your home. Be encouraged, small actions like these will make a big impact.
*This past year the families at Peachtree Presbyterian Church took the challenge together to look at choosing your faith in Jesus as a keepsake to be intentionally handed down to your kids. Part of that process included weekly emails to encourage bringing God into the center of our normal lives. These posts include some of those weekly emails and will continue as my Keepsake Token section.
