Summer’s Coming.
I am not referring to the season of summer - I am referring to SUUUMMMEERR time.
It’s almost here. Can you feel it? You are so close. Can you taste it? A break. A pause from the routine. Relief from the craziness of the end of school.
It certainly helps to walk through the seemingly controlled chaos, knowing there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Some of you will go to the beach, some will visit family, others of us will over plan and some will under plan (I envy you).
Will you take a break from EVERYTHING this summer? Yes, that is a rhetorical leading question.
Be sure to keep God a priority even when you are out of the routine.
I love to notice God. I had the pleasure of taking my girls to Magic Kingdom during spring break. Disney is so magical. I can escape into the imaginary very easily. Although not an obvious place to notice God, but when you are on a budget and you pull up to the parking attendant and they wave you on with a “Have a nice day.” FREE PARKING is a gift from God.
While there we headed over to Animal Kingdom, which was a first for all of us, and yes, we all wore the ‘First Visit’ buttons. On the African safari, the tour guide shared that even in this man-made safari, the animals create the landscape. The elephants push down bushes and trees, the giraffes prune trees by eating the lower leaves, and other animals graze and form the pastures. All by design, nature working together. Wow. God planned all of this!
You bet I pointed out the gifts from God and the design of God. All day. In fact my children started to get annoyed, which of course was my goal. Because when they get annoyed, an impression has been made. “Okay mom we see God too.” Goal accomplished.
More than that, I truly was experiencing a personal awe of God. His design, His creation, His love for ME evident in the things right before my eyes.
Have you noticed God in something new recently? Please share that moment with me below!
